Heraclius and the True Cross
Heraclius Enters Jerusalem, Folio 156v
Heraclius has dismounted from the chariot and enters the city bent over with the weight of the cross, in imitation of Christ. The cobblestone road into Jerusalem passes over a bridge and flowing stream.
