Vervain (<em>Verbena officinalis</em>)

Vervain has a very long history as a sacred herb. Like St. John’s wort, vervain was believed to be a sovereign Fuga daemonum, or devil-chaser, and was credited with the power to drive away demons and evil spirits and to hinder witches of their will.
