The Lawn at Cuxa Cloister

Lawns were a feature of both monastic garth gardens, like the one in Cuxa, and secular pleasure gardens. (See last week’s post for more about medieval lawns.) White clover (Trifolium repens) is introduced into the mixture of perennial rye and fescue grasses used to seed the lawns at The Cloisters.
