« Back to Adam and Eve and Arum
The Italian arum (Arum italicum), another medieval member of the Araceae family, is also grown in Bonnefont Garden. Although the form is equally suggestive, the flower is much larger and lighter in color, and the spadix is yellow rather than purple. A. italicum lacks the sinister spotting of A. maculatum. The leaves are beautifully marbled, and it is often grown as an ornamental plant in shade gardens.
