One of the most memorable boxwood features I've seen is the remnant of a very old allee (I think it might be seventeenth century) in Birr Castle gardens.  The trees are quite tall, and although you know that you are in Ireland, looking down the allee gives you a very powerful sensation of having been transported to Italy.</description>
