The courtyard, as seen from the portcullis gate entrance in 2012

Taken recently, this portrait of the now senescent oak includes a few modern accessories. Particularly rare for Manhattan, the courtyard also provides a staff parking area. Although the courtyard is not accessible to the public, visitors have a partial view of it from the top of the Upper Drive and from the west terrace. Photograph by Andrew Winslow.
