Bronze Medal Showing Heraclius
This bronze medal, on view in the exhibition, shows Heraclius grandly riding with the cross in a splendid carriage, is based on a gold medal that was in the inventory of the collection of Jean de Berry. The composition is echoed in Folio 156r. It is possible that both the medal and the page were designed by the Limbourg brothers, or that one was copied from the other.
