This native European pink is one of two wild forms of dianthus shown growing in the flowering meadow of The Start of the Hunt. The third is a garden form of the clove pink (Dianthus caryophyllus) or carnation. It is a much larger plant, and is prominently placed in front of the enclosure in The Unicorn in Captivity.
