Glechoma hederacea

The addition of ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea), a creeping member of the mint family, added bitterness to beer. Its longstanding use as a brewing botanical is revealed its other names, alehoof and tunhoof. A tun is a vessel used in brewing. Photograph by Corey Eilhardt
